They are unquestionably the worst apartment complex I've ever lived in. The units are aged (mine didn't have AC when I moved in), in poor condition, and the maintenance staff takes a very long time to handle maintenance requests.
I would rate this apartment complex as a 0 out of a possible 5 stars. I award you no points Broadstone Desert Horizon.

I moved into Broadstone Desert Horizon on May 24th, 2008 (1.5 weeks ago) and must say I enjoy the community atmosphere and the staff has been fantastic.
I elected to live in a model which did not have new appliances and kitchen cabinets installed, as that was not very important to me at the time. In hindsight, this was a huge mistake as almost every appliance in my apartment is/was malfunctioning. Here is a list of maintenance requests I've submitted in the 1.5 weeks since I've moved in. (Please feel free to verify this with management)
No Air Conditioning (had to make an emergency maintenance request last weekend)
Kitchen sink disposal not working
Refrigerator makes loud rattling noise at random, lengthy intervals
Master bathroom sink leaks
Kitchen and bathroom drawers were off track
No shower pole in 2nd bath
No doors on washer/dryer room
Stovetop coils tilted upward
I have yet to report:
Master bathroom sink still leaks, even after it was tended to.
2nd bathroom sink leaks
Not to mention the overall dirty initial state of the main bathroom, which was also reported. I just tried using the bathroom sink in the 2nd bathroom for the first time 20 minutes ago and found it leaks, which prompted this email, as it seems like every time we use an appliance for the first time it is not working properly. This is frustrating to say the least and makes me wonder if the unit was cleaned or checked out before moving in, and how many times I'm going to have to make maintenance requests over the 16 months of my lease. The fact that the air conditioning was broken in the summer time in Arizona, combined with the number of other faulty appliances upon move in leads me to believe that this unit was untouched/uninspected long before we moved in. Had I known that the appliances and general state of the apartment were in as poor condition as they are, it is unlikely I would have opted to live in this unit. On a positive note, as mentioned above the staff has been very accommodating in handling my maintenance requests and they have generally been tended to in a timely manner.
I wanted to make you aware of my concerns and feelings regarding my situation so that future Alliance residents don't encounter the same problems that I am currently, as this experience has made it unlikely I'd recommend Alliance to friends or renew my lease when it expires.
